| Minnesota is facing a historic near budget shortfall. Our taxes may go up and public services and programs are already on the chopping block. Responsible state leaders must explore sources of significant tax revenue like racetrack casinos. A past independent study showed that Minnesota voters favored the Racino concept by a clear majority. That was long before we faced a massive state deficit. The ability to immediately generate state revenue with a Racino is readily apparent and could include the simple installation of gaming machines at existing racetracks. |

| Racing News (July 13, 2010) Not Again....Gary Scherer took another apparent sprinter in Timeless Fortune, had him go two turns, and he won easy. Oh my! Ice Rocket also ran two turns coming in second. The weekend before we saw Sashas Fierce pick up her second win, Allegretto perform well coming in 5th in her first stakes race and Gazettes Girl get her first purse check running a solid 4th in a 2 year old baby race. Sasha proved herself running her first 2 turn race being able to go 4 wide in the first turn and 3 wide in the second. Even though this made her take a very long trip compared to the second place finisher who ran the rail the entire race, we found she could press the pace and still hold on to win. Eddie Martin gave her a nice ride and again, Gary Scherer proved he has a keen skill in determining a horse's distance capability by training her to run long even though we thought she was ashort speed horse based on history. Allegretto was also seen as a simple speed horse last year, stopping after 3 or 4 furlongs. Allegretto (which by coincidence means moderately fast) wants to run at a "moderately fast" pace all day and is showing us some real talent in open company now. Our 2 year old, Supremo Struckgold, has now run a game 2nd & 3rd in two races. He went off as the clear favorite in his last race but again fought hard for the lead from the get go. He is very professional and well mannered for a 2 year old. |
